Features: The Legend of Sun Wukong is indeed much larger, listing all five disciples of the pilgrimage (including the White Dragon Horse). It could be said that Wukong's Tale is another prequel to Journey to the West; in fact, almost every plot in Wukong's Tale can be traced back to Journey to the West. Although it is expressed with great freedom, it is ultimately still bound by the original story's shackles. It is somewhat like writing a history of the original story (here, "history" refers to Journey to the West). As for A Chinese Odyssey, although all four disciples appear, along with the (Bull Demon King) and the Iron Fan Princess, it is actually only a personal dream of Wukong. The story's arrangement is not particularly brilliant, almost entirely composed of witty and humorous dialogue. The focus lies more on the inner experience (though it is not limited to love), as different people may have different feelings at different times. Therefore, the traditional interpretation of Journey to the West is relatively singular, while the interpretation of A Chinese Odyssey is far richer now.
