Features: This book has undergone significant revisions based on the third edition. The homogeneous reaction process has been removed, with a focus on enriching the heterogeneous reaction process. Adjustments have been made to the polymerization reaction process, and a biochemical reaction process has been added. Examples and exercises have been updated. The book is divided into ten chapters. It primarily introduces homogeneous reaction processes, including the fundamentals of homogeneous reaction kinetics, homogeneous reactors, and non-ideal flow; heterogeneous reaction processes, including gas-solid phase catalytic reaction processes, non-catalytic two-fluid phase reaction processes, fixed-bed reactors, and fluidized-bed reactors; polymerization reaction processes, including the chemistry and kinetics of polymerization processes; and biochemical reaction processes, including the fundamentals of biochemical kinetics and biochemical reactors. This book serves as a textbook for undergraduate students in chemical engineering and related fields and can also be used as a reference for researchers and professionals in chemical engineering and related fields.
This book is a revised version of the 21st Century Curriculum Textbook Chemical Reaction Engineering. It was developed based on the writing, publication, and five years of teaching use in sister schools of the third edition, incorporating some modern works on the development direction of chemical reaction engineering, and revised in line with the Scientific Outlook on Development and the economic development of China. The book is divided into twelve chapters, with a main focus on summarizing the commonalities of macroscopic reaction processes involving the interaction of chemical reactions with momentum, mass, and heat transfer, as well as the engineering analysis and design of reaction devices.
The chemical reaction engineering discussed in this book belongs to the field of engineering, using the principles of natural sciences to examine, explain, and address practical engineering problems. The research method of chemical reaction engineering involves establishing mathematical simulation methods based on theoretical deduction and experimental studies of industrial reaction processes, combined with practical engineering experience to apply to engineering analysis and design. It emphasizes engineering thinking and advocates the integration of theory and practice. The book aims to train students in quantitative calculations and design skills, improving their ability to analyze and solve problems and fostering their innovative spirit.
This book can serve as a textbook for undergraduate students in chemical engineering and technology at universities and can also be used as a reference for engineering technicians in relevant research, design, and production units.
