What can be done in the late stage of liver cirrhosis to be cured?

Patient's question:

The onset of the illness was in November 2012, with symptoms of vomiting blood and ascites. I have been hospitalized four times, and each time involved surgery! I saw online that you mentioned treating with Traditional Chinese Medicine, so I am specially asking for your prescription!! Thank you very much! Is it advanced liver cirrhosis?

Doctor's answer:

Your question is quite broad. There is no specific treatment for cirrhosis itself. The key lies in early diagnosis, addressing the underlying cause, and enhancing general treatment to alleviate the condition and shorten the compensatory phase. For patients in the decompensated stage, the focus is primarily on symptomatic treatment, stabilizing liver function, and managing complications. The late stage of cirrhosis you mentioned is the decompensated stage.
1. General treatment: Rest in bed, a low-sodium, low-fat, and low-protein diet, abstinence from alcohol, and avoiding rough, hard foods. Stop using medications harmful to the liver. If constipation occurs, intravenous administration of hypertonic glucose may be used to digest calories, maintain electrolyte balance, and for more severe cases, intravenous infusion of compound amino acids, albumin, or fresh blood.
2. If ascites reappears, sodium and water intake should be restricted. Drain the ascites, and administer albumin and diuretics.
