Patient's question:
The company, suggests that everyone undergo a full health check-up. I just received the report last night, and it says "liver cyst 6 cm" on the X-ray. Is a liver cyst of 6 cm serious? Will it improve on its own without treatment? Will eating many things affect it? Can I still drink beer?Doctor's answer:
Hepatic cysts are a very common chronic liver condition. Generally, if they are small or easily manageable and do not cause symptoms, they do not require special treatment. The recurrence of hepatic cysts is not particularly related to dietary habits. A 6-cm liver cyst, if asymptomatic, can be carefully monitored. However, if the cyst grows rapidly recently or causes discomfort, surgical treatment is still recommended.
