Features: The primary goals of this book are to help readers prepare for the college entrance examination and to truly master writing skills. The book is divided into four parts: Part 1 systematically introduces the overall situation, trends, and scoring criteria for the English writing questions in the past 10 years of the college entrance examination. Part 2 focuses on writing skill development, including three units:
Unit "Basic Training" enhances candidates' writing abilities through exercises on basic sentence patterns, paragraph translation, sentence expansion, tense changes, sentence combination and modification, as well as the use of transition words and phrases.
Unit "Topic Vocabulary and Sentence Patterns" selects a variety of contemporary topics and provides commonly used vocabulary and sentence structures, enabling candidates to use them effortlessly in writing.
Unit "Writing in Different Styles" systematically explains the key points of writing in different styles and the format of application essays. It includes sections such as "Imitation Writing," "Guided Writing," and "Exam Simulation" to offer readers abundant writing practice, allowing them to grasp the essentials through specific examples or genuine exam questions.
Since chart analysis writing and note writing have not appeared in past college entrance examination papers, "Exam Simulation" sections are not included in these chapters. However, these types of writing are still required by the "Curriculum Standards" for high school students and may appear in future exams. Students should continue to master them.
Part 3 provides a detailed introduction to the open-ended essays that have appeared in recent Beijing college entrance examination papers, helping candidates broaden their thinking and familiarize themselves with this new type of question.
