Features: From the satellite remote sensing map of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, we can see the towering mountains that the Qinghai-Tibet Railway traverses. From the elevation profile of the areas along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, we can see the three steps that the train overcomes. The first step is the section from an altitude of 3,500 meters to 3,680 meters, including Mount Riyu and Guanjiao Mountain. The second step is the section from the Kunlun Mountains to the Tanggula Pass, with an average altitude of around 4,800 meters. The third step is the Tanggula Pass at an altitude of 5,072 meters. Reaching Tibet is difficult, and the difficulty lies in the high-altitude areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Now that the Qinghai-Tibet Railway is in operation, along the railway, we experience the majestic mountains and rivers passing by the window, the deep blue of the sky and white clouds, and the gazelles running across the vast plains, as well as the simple herdsmen. Based on existing literature and combined with our multiple trips to Tibet, we have compiled this book to accompany everyone on their journey westward and experience the plateau.
