What should be done if a pregnant woman has hepatitis B?

Patient's question:

I am a hepatitis B patient, but now I am pregnant. Can this child be left behind? Will the child also be like me after birth? I am very anxious now and don't know if I can keep this child. What should I do in this situation?

Doctor's answer:

Hello:
① Pregnant women with hepatitis B can start receiving one dose of high-efficiency hepatitis B immune globulin monthly from the 7th month of pregnancy.
② After the baby is born, one dose of high-efficiency hepatitis B immune globulin should be administered immediately within 12 hours. Then, the first dose of hepatitis B vaccine should be given 1–2 weeks later. Subsequently, booster doses should be administered at 1 and 6 months, achieving a protection rate as high as 97.13%, with good efficacy.
3) Only when postpartum liver function is normal, HBV-DNA is negative, and the child has been administered both hepatitis B immune globulin and hepatitis B vaccine can the diaper be changed.
