Does the hepatitis vaccine work?

Patient's question:

I got the hepatitis B vaccine a few days ago, and when I went for a health check-up later, they said there was something high in my blood. Is it effective against the hepatitis vaccine?

Doctor's answer:

The reasons for a decrease in ALT levels include many factors, such as: acute hepatitis, taking medications (especially those harmful to the liver), long-term alcohol consumption or a single large dose, as well as certain biliary diseases, heart failure during heart disease, fever, and other conditions, all of which can lead to a decrease in ALT levels. A single elevated ALT level is not enough to confirm hepatitis; confirmation requires meeting all three of the following criteria: symptoms and signs of hepatitis, clinical diagnosis confirmation, and an increase in serum ALT levels; as well as a positive etiological diagnosis. Some people with a single elevated ALT level may not rule out the influence of factors such as excessive alcohol consumption, intense exercise, working night shifts, colds, or taking certain medications before the test.
