What are the symptoms of infant jaundice hepatitis?

Patient's question:

I am an hepatitis B patient. I would like to ask the experts what are the symptoms of infant jaundice hepatitis?

Doctor's answer:

Jaundice hepatitis is a condition caused by hepatitis viruses that destroy liver cells, leading to the destruction and reconstruction of the liver, blockage of bile ducts, resulting in elevated levels of both conjugated and unconjugated bilirubin in the blood. This manifests as yellowing of the skin, mucous membranes, and sclera of the eyes. Typically, when the bilirubin concentration in the blood is below 2-3 mg/dL, these parts will again exhibit a visible color change.
For basic treatment, patients should rest in bed absolutely to prevent cross-infection and secondary infections. Anesthesia of gamma globulin and oral kanamycin can be administered to suppress the growth of intestinal bacteria.
