Features: In the 2,000-year-long history of China, a group of formidable and earth-shaking founding emperors emerged, each with an extraordinary legend, like stars in the night sky, brilliant and dazzling. They ushered in new eras of feudal dynasties, cleansing the times and enacting history: they were the pioneers of a dynasty, waving the flags of new regimes, turning the page of history. Time flies, yet these founding emperors left indelible marks in history; dynasties changed, and their historical status and achievements or shortcomings were also recorded in thick strokes in historical texts. The policies they implemented in formulating state governance, managing officials, developing the economy, as well as their political strategies, military tactics, ideological culture, and ethnic relations, all more or less propelled the progress of history. Indeed, as feudal emperors, they were inevitably limited by history, and they could not have taken more astonishing measures in their time. However, at that time, they did play a certain role in advancing social development. As founding emperors, no matter from which perspective, they were successful figures of their era. Interpreting founding emperors, analyzing Chinese history, and restoring their true faces can teach us invaluable life lessons. In this book, the author uses a combination of close-ups and long shots to recreate their journey to the pinnacle of imperial power. There are detailed portrayals of major historical events, sketches of battlefields with swords and armor; insightful comments on their life experiences, descriptions of their path to founding the empire; explorations of their "greatness" as heroic figures, and explanations of their ordinary life details. In short, our goal is one: to read these founding emperors from different angles, focus on history, capture the sealed years, and strive to authentically present the multi-dimensional lives of founding emperors. This book includes 24 founding emperors of major dynasties in China, among whom there are both far-sighted and brilliant pioneers, as well as reform-minded leaders who promoted meritocracy. For example, Qin Shi Huang established the imperial system and strengthened centralization, thus avoiding China's prolonged division and warfare; Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang, focused on resting the people and prioritized enriching the populace; Emperor Wen of Sui, Yang Jian, created the imperial examination system, ending the monopoly of aristocratic families over officialdom; and Emperor Gaozu of Tang, Li Yuan, skillfully governed and unified China. Every founding emperor had a unique approach to statecraft.
