Features: Zhao Wanru's landscape sketches are mostly inspired by Mount Tai and the Yimeng Mountains. Her landscapes are characterized by simplicity, grandeur, boldness, and spaciousness. The artist chooses the freehand brushwork method in ink and wash, favoring the use of aged ink to pursue the richness and depth of brushwork. In fact, her focus lies in the features of the natural subjects that serve as the basis for her feelings and impressions—whether it's the grandeur of the mountains, the scattered farmhouses, the vigorous trees, or the sparse autumn scenery. She dedicates her energy to the concept of "writing" to enhance the connotation and form of her brushwork. Zhao Wanru, styled Yishui Shenglian, is also known as Shuishenglian Jushi and Yishui Shenglian Juzhai Master.
