Features: Tongzhou, located at the northern end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, has a long history and is a place of great talent and culture. The rich canal culture of Tongzhou has a profound heritage. In history, Tongzhou was a stop for emperors, generals, scholars, and beauties, leaving behind numerous poems, calligraphy, and ink works by literary figures. Today, Tongzhou is a rapidly developing new urban area in Beijing, where many artists from all over the country gather. Among them, the renowned art masters Huang Yongyu and Han Meilin have lived and worked in Tongzhou for a long time. The Eight Tongzhou Artists is a collection of works by eight local Tongzhou painters active in the community. With an open and inclusive attitude and broad perspectives, they have absorbed a wealth of artistic influences, resulting in these fruits of art. Their works are distinctive and diverse in style, and more and more people are appreciating and collecting their works, which have already attracted widespread attention from both industry insiders and outsiders. This undoubtedly adds new depth to the cultural heritage of Tongzhou. Through The Eight Tongzhou Artists, we hope to let more people understand Tongzhou and, through these eight artists, understand the artistic community and their art.
Guan Hui's Artistic Resume: Born in Beijing in 1962, Guan Hui graduated in 1988 with a degree in Oil Painting from the Fine Arts Department of Beijing Capital Normal University. Currently, she is a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the Beijing Artists Association, a committee member and vice chair of the Watercolor Art Committee of the Beijing Artists Association, the Secretary-General of the Tongzhou Canal Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, the Executive Editor of the Cultural Landscape Line magazine, and the Deputy Director of the Tongzhou Cultural and Art Center. For many years, she has been engaged in the research and creation of watercolor and Chinese painting, forming a unique artistic style with elegant and refined works full of cultural depth. She has participated in numerous national art exhibitions and received awards, and has held multiple solo and group exhibitions. She has published three personal art books.
