Features: Criminal law is the law that stipulates crimes and punishments and is one of the fundamental laws of our country. Criminal law is distinguished from other laws by its broad scope of regulating social relations and its unique means of regulation. An individual may never come into contact with crime in their lifetime, but from a criminological perspective, each of us is both a potential victim and a potential perpetrator of crime. Therefore, understanding and studying criminal law is not only necessary for protecting our own rights and interests but also for enhancing legal awareness and reducing or avoiding illegal and criminal activities. The basic unit of the Criminal Code is an article, some of which include several clauses, and clauses can further include several items. Specifically, in the Criminal Code's specific provisions, some articles stipulate one crime, some one article stipulates several crimes, and some articles stipulate one crime per clause. The numbering of chapters, sections, articles, and clauses in the Criminal Code is expressed in Chinese numerals in sequence, clauses are not numbered, and the numbering of items is expressed in Chinese numerals with parentheses in sequence. The Criminal Code of our country consists of two parts: General Provisions and Specific Provisions. The key contents of the General Provisions of the Criminal Code include: (1) the scope of application of criminal law; (2) age of criminal responsibility, self-defense, criminal responsibility of special persons; (3) preparation, suspension, and failure to achieve a crime; (4) joint crimes; (5) types of punishment; (6) specific applications of punishment such as parole, reduction of sentence, statute of limitations, suspended sentence, concurrent sentences, habitual offenders, self-confession and meritorious actions, and sentencing circumstances. The Specific Provisions of the Criminal Code are divided into ten major categories of crimes based on the common objects of the crimes they violate: crimes against national security, crimes endangering public safety, crimes disrupting the socialist market economy, crimes infringing on the personal rights and democratic rights of citizens, crimes against property, crimes obstructing the order of social management, crimes endangering national defense interests, corruption and bribery crimes, dereliction of duty crimes, and crimes of military personnel violating their duties. Among these, Chapter 3 (crimes disrupting the socialist market economy) and Chapter 6 (crimes obstructing the order of social management) are further divided into sub-sections, which are minor categories of crimes.
