Features: The "Collection of Research Papers on Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt)" compiles the main contents of the compilers' research work on Bacillus thuringiensis from 1970 to 2006. The content covers the sharing and screening techniques of Bacillus thuringiensis strains, strain classification, identification, and preservation, the optimization of fermentation media, the optimization of fermentation processes, the prevention of phages, and research on application technologies. Bacillus thuringiensis is classified as a separate category from Bacillus cereus primarily because it produces various insecticidal active substances, including protein crystal toxins. How to obtain high-toxicity, high-fermentation performance, and strong phage-resistant superior strains, advanced sharing methods are particularly important. For this purpose, the author developed a new method for isolating Bacillus thuringiensis from soil—the NaCl isolation method. Compared with the AC isolation method and the sterile water dilution method, the isolation rate was increased by 1.4 times and 21.7 times, respectively. China has abundant microbial resources (including Bacillus thuringiensis), and many research institutions have successively isolated some high-efficiency new Bacillus thuringiensis strains, which are being developed for industrial fermentation production.
