Features: This book is a practical theoretical monograph on the application research of digital rural technology. It covers topics such as an overview of digital rural areas, data collection, information resource construction, decision support and expert systems, precision agriculture, agricultural models, agricultural e-commerce, and agricultural information services, making it suitable for reference and study by rural technicians. This "Comprehensive Overview of Digital Agriculture" is divided into 8 chapters. Chapter 1 examines the similarities and differences between precision agriculture and various precision agricultural operations closely related to digital agriculture, proposes that the technical framework of digital agriculture is a "hierarchical network environment integration of hardware, data/software, and applications within the agricultural field under the role of technical standards," and conducts statistical analysis of domestic and international literature collected in the field of digital agriculture. Chapter 2 introduces the underlying communication technology of digital agriculture—the development and application of technology in the field of data collection, ranging from field crop data to laboratory sample analysis, to the sharing and exchange of information in the global agricultural production, research, management, and circulation sectors through a three-dimensional network. Chapter 3 explores how traditional and future-oriented information management technologies are used globally to manage agricultural information resources collected and delivered through various channels, including database technology, information resource construction and mining, and ontology-based agricultural knowledge management. Chapter 4 introduces the design and implementation of agricultural decision support systems and expert systems based on information management, covering fundamental principles, common models, and specific applications in the agricultural field. Chapter 5 relatively independently introduces the technical system and development dynamics of precision agriculture, including data collection, management, and the content and application of various precision agricultural operations. Chapter 6 examines the historical development and domestic and international trends in the field of agricultural process models, which are the core components of virtual agriculture. Chapter 7 introduces agricultural e-commerce. Chapter 8 provides a more macro-level overview of the distribution and development of ICT-based digital agricultural services globally.
