Features: To improve survey and design standards and help a wide range of designers prepare for the examination for registered structural engineers, the authors have compiled this book based on the "Professional Examination Syllabus for First-Level Registered Structural Engineers" and the "Professional Examination Syllabus for Second-Level Registered Structural Engineers" issued by the National Council for the Examination of Registered Structural Engineers (Structural), the examination content, and historical examination situations. For structural engineers to review 35 standards, over 10,000 provisions, over 1,000 formulas, and dozens of reference materials in a relatively short time before the exam is actually very challenging. According to the actual requirements of the exam, applying limited time and energy to learning content that truly strengthens weaker areas is the best approach. Avoiding wasted time and detours, the best method is to take an actual exam paper for self-assessment, directly enter the exam environment, personally experience the role of a candidate, and gain a concrete understanding of the exam requirements. Based on the exam results, identify problems, summarize experiences, and find suitable learning methods, making participation in mock exams essential. The examination for registered structural engineers is divided into two levels: First-Level and Second-Level. The First-Level examination includes both a fundamental and a professional exam, while the Second-Level examination only includes a professional exam. The professional exam consists of 80 multiple-choice questions, with each question worth 1 point, for a total of 80 points. The exam content covers reinforced concrete structures, steel structures, masonry and timber structures, foundations and subgrades, high-rise buildings, tall structures, and lateral actions, as well as bridge structures. The exam questions are composed of linked calculation problems, true/false questions, comprehensive conceptual questions, and independent single-choice questions. In linked problems, the calculation results of each sub-question are generally not related. The number of answer questions (i.e., single-choice questions that do not require calculations) accounts for about 10 questions in the entire exam, and their proportion has been gradually decreasing in recent years. The book is divided into three parts: Part 1 compiles one set of mock exam questions according to the exam syllabus and question structure, simulating the entire answer process as required by the exam; Part 2 compiles 12 sets of mock exam questions according to the exam syllabus and question structure; Part 3 provides the reference answers and key points of the main answer process for each question in Part 2. This book addresses the latest situation of the professional exam for registered structural engineers, fully analyzes knowledge points and exam points in line with the requirements of the exam syllabus and question types, and vividly reproduces them in the mock exam questions to help candidates improve their exam skills, flexibly apply their knowledge, and enhance their judgment ability during the exam. Since the First-Level professional exam for registered structural engineers only includes bridge structures in addition to those in the Second-Level professional exam, this book primarily focuses on the First-Level professional exam content, making it also suitable for reference by candidates for the Second-Level professional exam and as a teaching reference for university teachers and students.
