Publishing Date: 2001-10-01
Features: In its early days, the study of religion was once called "comparative religious studies," and this spirit and methodology were preserved as one of the true essence of the discipline. The renowned founder of Western religious studies, Max Müller, once said, "Who knows only one religion knows nothing." This famous quote fully illustrates the significance and importance of religious comparison. To study religion, one must engage in comparative analysis. In the contemporary context of "globalization" and the "global village," the existence and development of religion also require mutual comparison, communication, and dialogue, seeking harmonious coexistence and cooperation on the basis of mutual understanding. This book is the third issue of "Religious Comparison and Dialogue." It is divided into sections such as "Religion and Society," "Religion and Philosophy," "Religion and Science," "Religion and Ethics," and "Scholar Reviews" to introduce various academic perspectives, analyze current hot issues, summarize historical lessons, and explore theoretical and intellectual exchanges. Through academic-level communication, dialogue, and discussion, we hope to eliminate misunderstandings and foster understanding, overcome divisions and expand consensus, and achieve greater insights and sharing in recognizing the true nature and understanding the meaning of religion.
