Do you need treatment for?

Patient's question:

I was diagnosed with hepatitis B minor positive in 2002. The test results showed normal DNA, no virus replication, normal liver function, normal transaminase levels, and everything else was normal. I have been retested many times, and the results have all been normal. I want to ask the doctor, can I have children now with my condition? What should I pay attention to? Does my condition need treatment??

Doctor's answer:

As you mentioned, everything is normal, and there is no need for treatment, because the liver is the site of drug metabolism. Since all drugs are toxic to some extent, taking too much can interfere with liver function. Pay attention to your diet: such as a ban on alcohol, balance work and rest. As long as everything is normal, antibodies will gradually develop. You can have children, but it depends on whether your partner also has hepatitis B. If not, if you already have a positive surface antibody, you can have children, but you need to get the hepatitis B vaccine after birth. If the mother does not have a positive surface antibody, you need to get vaccinated before considering having children. For severe liver disease patients, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly and receive timely treatment based on the doctor's advice. Do not change medications arbitrarily for treatment.
