Chinese Legal History

Features: During the writing process of this book, the author attempted to make some feasible corrections. First, in response to the characteristics of adult higher education teaching materials, we clearly defined the format and writing plan by selecting the legal systems of major historical national regimes as the scope of discussion. The main focus was on the legal thought, legislation and legal forms, criminal law, civil and economic law, and judicial systems of each period. Issues related to non-major regimes' legal systems, as well as currently debated, unresolved, or less impactful topics, were omitted to provide students and readers with a concise and clear outline of the development of Chinese legal history. Second, efforts were made to ensure that the discussed issues were well-supported, strengthening the verification of annotations and citations to ensure that the held views and arguments could withstand scrutiny. Additionally, considering the characteristics of adult students, readability was appropriately enhanced, while legal commentary and summaries were provided appropriately to meet the needs of adult students who are strong in comprehension and inclined to think critically.
