Features: Do Chinese people not deserve confidence? Or does China lack confidence? At least in the business world, we seem to lack temper. For example, in 1984, what were the sizes of Lenovo and Dell? Similarly, in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, how many Quanjude restaurants are there outside Beijing, and how many KFC stores are there outside the United States? How much is the brand value of Jianlibao, and how much is the brand value of Coca-Cola? How about Tong Ren Tang, Sanjiu Group, Bayer, and Pfizer? But I remember Mr. Lu Xun's speech in "Before the Genius" in 1924. He said, "Genius is not a monster that grows spontaneously in deep forests or wild wildernesses. It is produced and nurtured by the people who can make genius grow, so without the people, there is no genius." Mr. Lu used Napoleon's conquest of the Alps as an example. Napoleon said, "I am higher than the Alps!" Mr. Lu commented, "How magnificent! But don't forget that many soldiers followed behind him. If there were no soldiers, he would only have been captured or driven back by the enemies on the other side of the mountain. His actions and words would have left the boundaries of heroism and fallen into the category of madness." The significance of this book lies in: it attempts to correct a pseudo-trend, that is, many experiences, wisdom, standards, and rules in business management can only be learned from Westerners, and some management masters and academic frauds are mixed into the trend. Garbage is a treasure placed in the wrong place. For the seminal works of masters like Collins, Al Ries, and Jack Trout written in the 1980s, they also faced the shame of garbage because they were introduced 10 years earlier. In the 66 cases in the final draft of this book, Huawei, a mainland Chinese company, was selected the most, a total of 3 times. Lenovo, Vanke, and Haier were selected twice each. This is somewhat related to my recognition of their inheritance of national wisdom. Huawei's relentless advance in the international market has made industry giant Cisco desperate; Lenovo's "scale" of acquiring IBM's PC business in late 2004 to become the world's third-largest PC manufacturer is a very inspiring case. Just as we admired the wisdom of Liu Chuanzhi's contribution to dragging international competitors into a decisive battle in the mud back then, we should now also admire Yang Yuanqing's bold challenge to Dell not to underestimate the new Lenovo. Whether it is wise and tactful or based on his own youthful courage, we must show confidence, ambition, and morale in doing business. In the book "Absolute Chinese Manufacturing," the author cross-references China's millennia of war wisdom with modern business warfare, classifies and summarizes some recent growth cases of well-known companies, and aims to uncover the underlying patterns. Such work clearly has very practical value.
