Features: The School of Economics at Hangzhou University of Commerce was newly established in August 2001 on the basis of the former Department of Economics and the Department of International Economics and Trade. From the very beginning, we clearly proposed a disciplinary development approach that prioritizes planning, emphasizes research, values "attracting outstanding talent," and aims to cultivate excellent undergraduate and graduate students with broad knowledge, strong skills, and a solid foundation. To this end, we held annual academic seminars in line with international conference standards for three consecutive years, with every faculty member (including newly recruited professors, doctors, and masters) submitting academic papers. Many more were published in journals such as Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal, Management World, Issues in International Trade, and other academic publications both domestically and internationally. The book China in Transition: Organizational Transformation and Structural Restructuring was a collection of new works written by our faculty for the third academic seminar, focusing on the organizational transformation and structural restructuring issues in China's economic system reform against the backdrop of economic globalization and informatization. Organized by theme, the book is broadly divided into six chapters:
Chapter 1: Enterprise Institutional Innovation and Rebuilding the Micro Foundation
Chapter 2: Industrial Regulation Innovation and the Transformation of Government Functions
Chapter 3: Trade Institutional Innovation and Enhancing International Competitiveness
Chapter 4: Spatial Organizational Innovation and the Development of Industrial Clusters
Chapter 5: Economic Structural Transformation and China's Economic Development
Chapter 6: Comparative Economic Theories and Reflections
