Features: In just 20 short years, China's interior design and renovation industry has evolved from obscurity and neglect to an unprecedented prosperity today, which indeed makes us who are involved in it feel incredibly fortunate. However, behind this facade of prosperity, there are also a series of underlying concerns—designers' emotions, excessive commercialization in design; Chinese designers facing strong competition from foreign designers and being in a state of losing the right to speak, etc. These issues make us very worried. Because we know that these shortcomings will inevitably affect the healthy development of China's interior design industry. As a latecomer, learning from the experiences of similar countries can help us avoid many detours. Japan and South Korea in East Asia, our close neighbors, have experiences worth carefully reflecting on. Regarding the design works we have selected, here I would only like to briefly mention one point: their attention to detail. It can be said without exaggeration that it is precisely because of their focus on detail that their designs become more high-quality. Regrettably, the current design circles in China are plagued by, and the quality of designs is often not guaranteed. For this alone, these designs are worth pondering. More importantly, we hope that by publishing this series of books, Chinese interior designers can gain some valuable insights into solving current problems from the practices of Japan and South Korea, which share the same East Asian cultural circle as us.
Looking at various books on architectural interior decoration, we deeply feel that the current market lacks visual expressions of concepts at different stages, such as the primary means of solutions—drawings, especially the severe shortage of detailed drawings. Therefore, we decided to compile Architectural Interior Detail Design. This series of books focuses on introducing and analyzing contemporary architecture and interior decoration, emphasizing the unity and harmony of architecture and interior design, and aims to guide the fashionable and cutting-edge trends in the field of interior decoration. Architectural Interior Detail Design not only selects structural details of specific parts, including plans, elevations, and sections, but also publishes a large number of images corresponding to the drawings to facilitate better understanding for interior decoration professionals, related industry workers, and university students. The entire series consists of 8 books: Architectural Interior Detail Design 01—Commercial·Medical Spaces, Architectural Interior Detail Design 02—Office Spaces I·II, Architectural Interior Detail Design 03—Dental Hospital Spaces, Architectural Interior Detail Design 04—Commercial Facilities Spaces, Architectural Interior Detail Design 05—Apartment Spaces, Architectural Interior Detail Design 06—Exhibition Hall Spaces, Architectural Interior Detail Design 07—Rehabilitation Hospitals·Hotels Spaces, and Architectural Interior Detail Design 08—Cultural and Educational Spaces.
