Is frequent twitching a symptom of epilepsy?

Patient's question:

My son is twelve years old. He told me that his head sometimes feels dizzy. Also, he said that once in the dormitory, he had twitches, but he didn't tell anyone, including you, until he came home and told me. I was originally going to take him for a thorough check-up, but it got postponed because of something at work. Now I'm questioning whether it's epilepsy. Does my son have epilepsy?

Doctor's answer:

Generally speaking, the twitching symptoms of epilepsy seizures are not known to the patient themselves, so the current situation does not seem to be a manifestation of an epilepsy seizure. Therefore, it is recommended to pay attention to regularly adjusting the baby's mental state, consuming more vegetables and fruits, and eating more foods rich in high-quality protein, which is beneficial for strengthening the body. If symptoms of recurrence are felt, it is advised to promptly go to the hospital for further detailed examinations, such as a cranial CT or MRI, as well as an electroencephalogram (EEG).
