Chinese ceramics

Author: Feng Xianming, Editor-in-Chief
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2001-12-01
Features: The series of cultural relic and museum textbooks, including China Archaeology, Fundamentals of Chinese Museum Studies, Chinese Ceramics, Chinese Bronzes, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, and Ancient Chinese Architecture, was organized and edited by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. Since its publication by Shanghai (Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House) in 1990, the series has received strong response from the cultural heritage and museum sectors, as well as from the public and overseas peers. It has been praised by both professional and amateur enthusiasts, and has been reprinted multiple times at the request of readers. In the past decade, China's cultural heritage and museum sector has made significant progress, with numerous new discoveries and achievements emerging. To reflect the latest developments in the field and to make the series more comprehensive and better meet the needs of readers, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage has organized the original authors to revise the textbooks. This revision includes the addition of new research findings and content, corrections of errors in the original texts (The content of China Archaeology was not revised due to certain reasons), and the addition of color illustrations to some textbooks. Additionally, China Ancient Coins was published for the first time. The chief editors of each book in this series are all seasoned experts and scholars (some have passed away), who, despite their advanced age and physical limitations, personally contributed to the revision with great effort. We sincerely express our gratitude to them.
