Expert, my foreskin and glans are connected. What should I do?

Patient's question:

I searched for information online, and phimosis refers to the foreskin being too tight to expose the glans. In my case, it can be exposed, but there is still a connection between the glans and the foreskin. What should I do?

Doctor's answer:

Hypospadias can be considered for surgical treatment. Hypospadias refers to a condition where the penis, in a relaxed state, has the foreskin covering the entire glans. If the foreskin not only covers the entire glans but also has a narrow opening and cannot be retracted, this condition is called phimosis. While hypospadias does not affect urination, the foreskin can accumulate dirt and debris, especially as the foreskin can secrete a foul-smelling white discharge called smegma. Long-term irritation of the glans, particularly the corona, by smegma can easily lead to balanitis and penile inflammation. Bacterial infections from the foreskin cavity can also cause cystitis, pyelonephritis, and prostatitis.
