Can varicocele of the spermatic artery be cured?

Patient's question:

At the age of only 27 this year, I was diagnosed with varicocele. How can it be treated effectively?

Doctor's answer:

For milder varicocele or those accompanied by neurasthenia, scrotal support and cold compresses can be applied. For more severe varicocele, with sperm count consistently below 20 million for three consecutive times, or with testicular atrophy; if the varicose veins disappear when lying flat, high ligation of the internal spermatic vein can be performed.
