Features: It is the responsibility and mission of professional strategic theory researchers to conduct systematic philosophical thinking on China's strategic theory. "Theory serves reality" is the purpose of theoretical research, and different "roles" have different divisions of labor. For a period of time, with the development of science and technology, the worship of "science and technology" and the "technological determinism" have become increasingly prevalent worldwide. This has not only led to a lack of theory but also to the situation where "technical manuals," "operating guidelines," and technical knowledge are taken as target theories and guiding theories. This manuscript is a teaching outline for the 2005 doctoral students of the Academy of Military Sciences titled "Philosophical Pathways—Philosophical Reflections on Contemporary Chinese Strategy." It is also the third result of the author in strategic research after "National Affairs—Research and Reflections on Contemporary Chinese Strategy" and "Historical Insights—Historical Reflections on Contemporary Chinese Strategy." After engaging in practical and historical reflections on China's strategy, the book encounters some unanswerable and unresolved issues, leading to a state of reflection and critique. It is not intended to study philosophical problems but to seek knowledge growth points beneficial to strategic research from philosophy—methods and inspiration for reflection, critique, and innovation.
