Guidance Methods for School Education Research: Approaches and Strategies

Author: Shi Tiuru

Features: The strategies and approaches in this book are more comprehensive and strategically significant. The author's reflections also extend to a field that many current educational research methods books rarely explore. Because many authors often detach themselves from the context of the research activities conducted by researchers and present methods in an abstract manner, they tend to consider problems from the perspective of operations rather than activities. This book discusses and introduces research activities within the specific context of "school education," thus considering issues from the perspective of activities rather than operations. As a result, strategies and approaches become unavoidable. Consequently, the author's reflections on methodology, as well as the exploration of research approaches and strategies in school education research, become another "alternative" aspect of the book. The discussion of research approaches and strategies can be considered meta-research, which is research about research itself. Some of the approaches proposed in this book are the result of the author's collaborative thinking with school teachers during the process of school reform research. It can be said that we, like the school teachers, have learned to research through the research process. This is an outcome we did not initially anticipate, a deeper and more valuable outcome. This perspective is also elaborated upon in the book.
