Features: The redesign is a manifestation of a newspaper keeping pace with the times. A successful redesign requires rational thinking and serious research and exploration. This book, as a full record of a redesign process, is valuable for journalists to learn from! "This book records the process of a central newspaper's redesign in the form of a diary. It not only has practical reference value but also holds certain historical reference value for journalism."
Why write this "open letter"? First, it stems from personal reflections on reading and reviewing newspapers. Second, after two nights of observation, the integration of eight news sections turned out to be faster and better than expected. Although many issues remain to be addressed in the news sections, including the front page, the overall situation is satisfactory. In contrast, the later pages, especially the middle nine to twelve sections, became the main focus of the problem. Third, the overall style and standardized format of the pages were still inconsistent. At a glance, they seemed fine, but upon closer inspection, they appeared as if they were not from the same newspaper.
Therefore, although I had repeatedly reminded myself not to rush and to adjust and observe carefully before the redesign, when the time came, I couldn't help but jump in and criticized the editors of the nine to twelve sections, as well as all the editors.
