Varicocele, what symptoms appear when it is severe?

Patient's question:

Varicocele, what are the symptoms when it's severe, and what medications can be used to assist in early treatment? Thank you!

Doctor's answer:

Varicocele can present with the following symptoms when severe:
1. The patient may have neurotic symptoms, such as headaches, fatigue, and hyperesthesia. Some patients may experience sexual dysfunction.
2. Swelling or pain in the perineum, lower abdomen, or waist. Symptoms become more pronounced after prolonged standing or walking, and are relieved by lying down.
3. The varicocele is visibly prominent, or can be felt as a cluster of worm-like dilated veins.
4. In daily life, the patient may be completely asymptomatic, with the condition only discovered during a physical examination.
5. Patients with varicocele may experience a sensation of heaviness or aching discomfort in the scrotum.
