Features: Since childhood, watching my mother (Teacher Pan Meiling) take many ball-like objects and pull them into long, long threads, which eventually became beautiful works! Perhaps out of curiosity, under the influence of daily exposure, I unknowingly learned some basic craftsmanship techniques from her. Although I secretly used leftover threads to create small fabric pieces without knowing what to do with them, my little heart was filled with great satisfaction! When I grew up, I learned from my grandmother that when I was very young, my mother often knitted sweaters for subcontracting while carrying me on her back. It was then that I realized that my connection with "handicraft" had started long before I was a child.
After entering middle school, I started "going crazy" with "lucky ropes" with my classmates. At that time, there were no tools to assist in braiding, so I always braided them "by hand," one knot at a time, which took a considerable amount of time to complete a work. My classmates were very envious of my creations and wanted to have their own, but they always gave up because some patterns were too complex to learn no matter how hard they tried. The only thing I could do for them at that time was to give them a few lucky ropes on their birthdays. The expression of satisfaction on the recipients' faces when they received the gifts was something I still remember vividly, and it made me more convinced: lucky ropes really bring happiness!
With the advancement of technology, there are now tools to assist in braiding lucky ropes—braiding looms—making the process no longer difficult or time-consuming. I am very happy to introduce this tool to all of you. In addition to following the instructions in the book, you can also be creative by trying different color combinations and making unique patterned works. It's a lot of fun!
It was a truly happy moment for me to have the opportunity to collaborate with my mother on this small book (many of the works inside are my personal creations!). I finally have the chance to shout to those friends who gave up on hand braiding: "Dear friends! When your birthdays come, you don’t need to wait for me to make lucky ropes for you anymore! The works in the book are rich in content, easy to operate, and simple to understand! You can choose your own color combinations and make them with your own hands!"
