In light of this, our Guangdong Publishing Group has meticulously planned and organized the publication of the "Annual China Read Series." The "Annual China Read Series" divides history by year, compiling important texts, major events, hot topics, debate links, and expert comments in China's humanities, education, economy, science and technology, culture, and other fields into series of books such as "Humanities China," "Education China," "Science and Technology China," "Economy China," and "Culture China." The aim is to showcase the highlights of China in that year from a global perspective and local character, with multi-faceted and multi-level perspectives, examine the issues of China in that year, and compile the year-end summary into books, which are then released to readers at the beginning of the following year. We strive to: distill, edit, and refine the scattered historical feelings, observations, and experiences, using a keen eye, profound insights, and multi-dimensional perspectives to combine, overlap, and convey the psychological, economic, cultural, technological, and educational information of China's history, culture, society, and era in that year. We focus on: blending book and magazine characteristics, complementing news and documentation, and unifying thoughtfulness and readability; integrating text and images, background links, and concise comments, sparking intellectual sparks and extending the inspiration of thinking; highlighting small events in the large society and big issues in small details, with the big encompassing the small and the small revealing the big. We do not aim for comprehensiveness but seek to strike the essence, in order to highlight the cultural tension full of impact and radiation. This book selects nine representative cultural forms—2006 cultural events and debates, 2006 films, 2006 television dramas, 2006 television entertainment programs, etc.—attempting to reflect the basic cultural landscape of the year from a special perspective.
