Features: Currently, research on the issue of government credit construction in China's academic circles is still in its early stages. Issues such as the social and historical background of local government credit crises during the transition period, the intrinsic logic of local government credit crises, and the political prerequisites and institutional reform paths for building a credit-based government all require in-depth and specific research. This book is a research outcome of the Key Project of the "11th Five-Year Plan" for Philosophy and Social Sciences of Zhejiang Province. The author has made a preliminary attempt to conduct a systematic study on local government credit issues during the transition period. Based on a general theoretical analysis of the fundamental issues related to social credit and government credit, the book focuses on the social and historical context of social structure transformation and institutional reform, and explores in depth the intrinsic logic of local government credit crises, as well as the evolution of external constraints and internal driving mechanisms of local government behavior. Additionally, it provides a preliminary analysis of the political prerequisites for building a credit-based government and the related institutional construction issues involved in credit government development.
