Can male genital tuberculosis be confirmed without surgery?

Patient's question:

Initially, I had severe headaches, so I had a circumcision surgery. After the surgery healed, I kept feeling pain at the site where the anesthetic was applied, a deep pain. Later, when my penis was erect, hard streaks appeared, and there was pain when the penis was not erect. The entire main shaft of the penis became bumpy when erect, but the bumps weren't large and weren't on the corpus cavernosum; they were on the inner sides of the penis. Now, there's a sensation of itching inside the penis, and the itchy areas feel rough, as if something has grown there. These aren't inside the urethra but inside the penis.

Doctor's answer:

The possibility of tuberculosis is unlikely. It's best to have a penile ultrasound done to check for nodules.
