Features: This atlas is designed with practicality in mind, hence it includes medicinal plants, animals, and minerals, and is arranged in a picture-reference format. The entire set comprises over 720 Chinese medicinal herbs and over 730 color illustrations, published in three volumes. Volume 1 includes 207 species, primarily featuring commonly used herbs in South China, with a significant portion being locally habitual medicines, thus possessing distinct regional characteristics. Volume 2 collects 230 species, all of which are plant-based medicines, mainly folk herbs with proven efficacy in southern, eastern, and central China, making this volume particularly useful for enthusiasts of folk herbal research. Volume 3 includes 280 species, with approximately 80 animal medicines and 40 mineral medicines, and selects nearly 20 renowned Chinese medicinal herbs native to China as well as some imported medicinal materials among the plant medicines. These contents are rarely found in typical popular Chinese herbal books, thus filling their gaps.
