Features: The rapid development of cardiology has inspired a strong desire among healthcare workers to acquire knowledge and improve their knowledge structure. To this end, we have incorporated new theories and concepts from recent years in electrocardiography and cardiac treatment, combined with years of clinical practice, to compile this practical monograph dedicated to the electrocardiographic diagnosis of various cardiac emergencies and their related clinical management. During the writing process of this book, we received encouragement, guidance, and support from supervisors of several universities, including Sun Yat-sen University School of Medicine, Nanjing University School of Medicine, and Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The renowned cardiovascular disease expert and veteran in electrocardiography, Professor Zhao Yi, personally reviewed the manuscript and wrote the preface. We sincerely express our gratitude and heartfelt respect. The authors of this book have consistently adhered to the following three principles in the writing process:
1. Integration of Content: The electrocardiographic diagnosis of various cardiac emergencies is closely integrated with clinical treatment, neither straying beyond the scope of electrocardiography nor neglecting relevant treatment aspects in cardiology. This provides readers with a clear direction for interpreting electrocardiograms and understanding clinical practice, fulfilling their desire for knowledge updates while broadening their intellectual horizons. Thus, this book serves as a bridge between modern electrocardiography and modern cardiac treatment.
2. Scientific Rigor and Contemporary Relevance: The content of this book is derived from clinical electrocardiographic practice, meticulously summarized in theory, and then returned to practical application, creating a strong sense of familiarity among readers. The principles for handling relevant conditions or diagrams are aligned with contemporary developments and recognized views, striving to be in step with the latest domestic research findings and guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA), American College of Cardiology (ACC), and European Society of Cardiology (ESC). Additionally, for some valuable but controversial aspects, the perspectives of relevant scholars are briefly outlined to foster independent thinking among readers.
3. Clinical Relevance and Practicality: In terms of case selection, the book emphasizes common and frequently occurring conditions but does not overlook rare or challenging cases. Structurally, it is organized around diseases and symptoms, avoiding rigid systematic categorization. In content presentation, it focuses on electrocardiographic diagnosis and clinical management, simplifying differential diagnosis and mechanisms. The writing style is concise, fluent, and well-illustrated, emphasizing both diagnosis and treatment, with innovative and clear reasoning.
This book is suitable for chief physicians, resident physicians, electrocardiography professionals, and healthcare workers in grassroots medical units. It is also an excellent mentor and companion for medical interns and young doctors just beginning their clinical practice.
