Features: With over 20 years of experience in teaching and researching medical ethics, we have always been passionate and dedicated to this field filled with controversy and philosophical debate. Even today, we still feel a sense of "unraveling but not resolved" attachment to medical ethics, as the market economy and modern technology have brought too many temptations to medicine. When traditional art-based medicine evolved into scientific biomedicine, medicine at least fell into two major dilemmas: First, what exactly is modern medicine? Second, how to address the various puzzling ethical challenges that arise in modern healthcare. Medicine and the biological sciences have a close relationship, otherwise there would be no modern concept of science and medicine. Additionally, medicine has traditional connections with ethics, art, philosophy, and literature. Today, as modern healthcare faces numerous ethical dilemmas, these intrinsic links have become even clearer, because scientific judgment ultimately cannot resolve ethical issues in medicine or other humanities.
