:Ejaculatory duct cyst, will

Patient's question:

Please ask: Do seminal vesicle cysts disappear on their own? Can I skip treatment after having children? Do they affect health? Thank you!

Doctor's answer:

I. The decision should be based on the size of the cyst, clinical symptoms, and the presence of complications.
1. Conservative treatment is suitable for smaller cysts, mild symptoms, younger patients, and requires regular follow-up. For patients with infection or hematospermia, oral antibiotics and hemostatic agents should be administered. When necessary, 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors can be used: Propecia 5mg once daily, or Eprex 5mg twice daily, with a course of 1–3 months.
2. Surgical treatment is suitable for larger cysts, complications with stones, obvious symptoms, and cases that are difficult to cure. Methods include cystectomy or removal of the affected seminal vesicle, suprapubic "pouch suture" surgery, and transurethral cyst decapitation.
3. Cyst puncture with absolute alcohol or tetracycline solution can reduce the size of the cyst.
4. Transurethral surgery should be performed for seminal vesicle cysts caused by strictures or obstructions of the ejaculatory duct, including transurethral incision of the ejaculatory duct or resection of the verumontanum.
II. If it does not affect sexual function, treatment is not necessary. It does not affect fertility.
