Features: This book is a monograph on object-oriented analysis methods. Its first edition was published by Tsinghua University Press in 1998 and has been used as a graduate or senior undergraduate textbook in many universities in China, as well as a technical reference book by many software development organizations. It continues to be reprinted annually. For this revised edition, substantial additions, modifications, and improvements have been made based on the new developments in object-oriented theory and technology both domestically and internationally, as well as in reference to the new version of the Unified Modeling Language (UML 2.0). Improvements have also been made in conceptual explanations, textual descriptions, and illustrations. The book consists of 10 chapters. The first three chapters systematically introduce the basic knowledge of object-oriented methods, discuss the main characteristics and advantages of object-oriented analysis (OOA), and briefly outline the key features of the OOA method presented in this book. Chapters 4 to 9 provide a detailed introduction to the entire OOA process, focusing on the basic models (class diagrams), requirement models (use case diagrams), auxiliary models (package diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, and other various UML model diagrams), and model specifications. Each development activity is discussed in depth, with detailed process guidance and engineering strategies provided. Chapter 10 focuses on software reuse and its relationship with OOA, offering strategies for organizing the OOA process in accordance with software reuse requirements.
