Publish Date: 2005-05-01
Features: Pathophysiology is a science that takes the diseased body as its object, focuses on functional and metabolic changes, and studies the laws and mechanisms of disease occurrence, development, and outcome. Mastering pathophysiology lays a foundation for further studies in clinical medicine, pharmacy, and preventive medicine. With the vigorous development of medical education and the continuous deepening of educational reform, pathophysiology textbooks published domestically have gradually been seriesized to meet the learning needs of medical students of different academic terms. The revised version of our Pathophysiology has been used for 5 years and has been well-received by medical students at higher vocational colleges and medical students of the Central Radio and Television University. Now, we have revised the original book based on it. In terms of layout, in addition to retaining the original chapters, we have added hypertension and diabetes, which severely threaten human health, as representatives of vascular and endocrine system pathophysiology. To meet the requirements of a 3-year medical vocational education program, we have summarized the content of each chapter at the beginning of each chapter and proposed learning objectives to be achieved at three levels: mastery, familiarity, and understanding. In terms of teaching content, we have supplemented some new developments in modern medicine, and in expression, we strive to make the language concise and clear, facilitating teachers' lectures and students' comprehension and memorization. Additionally, this book lists some English terms to help students familiarize themselves with the English terminology of pathophysiology. Clinical case analysis has also been added to each chapter to enable students to integrate basic theory with clinical practice as early as possible. This book serves as a textbook for medical students at higher vocational colleges, various part-time and adult education programs to study pathophysiology, and also provides some assistance for teachers in teaching guidance. Accompanying this textbook is the second edition of Pathophysiology Study Guide, which is designed to facilitate students' self-study, review, and assessment of learning outcomes.
