The cost of circumcision for phimosis

Patient's question:

After the circumcision (phimosis), on the 12th postoperatively, the hospital staff couldn't properly reposition the foreskin after cleaning it. At the time, we didn't understand either. The next day, we noticed that the child's penis was swollen. The doctor there told us to apply erythromycin ointment to the child, but it was ineffective. However, by then, the erythromycin ointment had already formed something like a shell.

Doctor's answer:

Phimosis refers to a small preputial orifice that cannot be retracted to expose the glans penis. The mild adhesion between the inner preputial lining and the surface of the glans penis is absorbed, allowing the prepuce to retract and the glans to be exposed. If the adhesion is not absorbed, it results in congenital phimosis. Acquired phimosis is often secondary to inflammation of the glans prepuce, leading to scarred contraction of the preputial orifice.
