Features: In the early winter when plum blossoms are fragrant, the Institute of Sediment Research celebrated its 50th anniversary. To review the development history of the institute, the book "Inheriting Innovation, Re-creating Brilliance—50th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Institute of Sediment Research, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research" was compiled. Since its establishment in 1956, the institute has grown through the collective efforts of several generations over 50 years of journey, half a century of struggle, and has gone through three important stages: hard pioneering, contribution development, and reform and innovation. Alongside the development of the country's water conservancy industry, the institute has gradually expanded. The institute will take the celebration of its 50th anniversary as a new starting point, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Hu Jintao as General Secretary, adhering to the guidance of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Important Thought of "Three Represents," firmly establishing and implementing the Scientific Outlook on Development, and promoting the spirit of "unity, pragmatism, perseverance, and innovation." It strives to build an innovative research institute, making the Institute of Sediment Research a world-class research institution, and making positive contributions to better serving national economic construction and promoting the development of the water conservancy industry.
