Features: Dear piano student: I hope you can enjoy playing four-hand piano pieces with your friends, parents, and teachers. Here are a few tips to help you:
1. During practice, don’t always play only one part. Once you’ve mastered one part, you might be eager to switch and play the other part.
2. Before starting to play, count a measure of the time signature and tap the beat silently with your left hand. Take turns counting between the two players. If someone makes a mistake or gets lost, be prepared to pick up from any measure or any beat.
3. Whenever you see the “little glasses” symbol, pay attention to your partner’s face and hands. It will help you stay in sync at the beginning, end, pauses, when the music slows down, and when it speeds up again.
4. Follow the dynamic changes in the music carefully. The second part should never be louder than one part.
