Features: The "Hubei Provincial Archives Guide" (hereinafter referred to as "The Guide") is an informative reference book. The purpose of compiling The Guide is to present an overview of the Hubei Provincial Archives to the public, reveal the basic composition and main content of its archival holdings, further develop archival information resources, and help readers understand the archives of the Hubei Provincial Archives. It aims to facilitate effective access and utilization of the required archives. At the same time, it enables staff to familiarize themselves with the archival holdings and proactively provide access, thereby fully leveraging the role of the Hubei Provincial Archives in the construction of socialist modernization. The Guide is guided by Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought, adhering to the principles of historical materialism and dialectical materialism. It is compiled in accordance with the "Specifications for Compiling Archival Guides" approved and issued by the National Archives Administration, taking into account the work of the Hubei Provincial Archives and the actual conditions of its archival holdings. It was developed after an in-depth investigation of the archival holdings, followed by careful review, selection, verification, and writing of materials, and was reviewed by relevant departments of the National Archives Administration before being compiled. The Guide comprises approximately 500,000 words and is divided into seven parts: Part 1, Overview of the Hubei Provincial Archives; Part 2, Introduction to the Republican Era Archives; Part 3, Introduction to Revolutionary History Archives; Part 4, Introduction to Post-1949 Provincial Government Agency Archives; Part 5, Introduction to Post-1949 Central South Region Archives; Part 6, Introduction to Archival Materials; and Part 7, Appendices. The main and core of the Guide is the introduction to the archival holdings. Before introducing each section of the archives, there is a brief preface that summarizes the basic conditions and organizational structure of the archives in that section, providing readers with a systematic and comprehensive understanding. The archival introductions are written by archival series. Due to space limitations, the book cannot introduce all 299 archival series, but only selects 203 important archival series with a large number of archives for introduction. The introduction to each archival series includes two aspects: institutional overview and archival conditions and content.
