People always die, but the meaning of death is not the same. In ancient China, a literary figure named Sima Qian once said, "All men must die, but some die with greater weight than Mount Tai, while others die as light as feathers." Dying for the people's interests is heavier than Mount Tai. Dying for the fascists, for the exploiters and oppressors of the people, is no lighter than feathers. Zhang Side died for the people's interests, and his death is as heavy as Mount Tai...
Because we serve the people, we are not afraid of criticism or correction. As long as we persist in what is good for the people's interests and correct what is wrong for their interests, our team will surely flourish. We all come from all over the country, united for a common revolutionary goal. We will also walk this path with the majority of the people in the country. Today, we already lead a base area with 91 million people, but it is not enough. It needs to be larger to achieve the liberation of the entire nation. When our comrades face difficulties, they should see the achievements, see the light, and boost their courage. Struggle means sacrifice, and deaths are common occurrences. However, we should minimize unnecessary sacrifices. Our cadres should care for every soldier, and everyone in the revolutionary team should care for, love, and help each other.
In the future, in our team, no matter who dies—whether a cook or a soldier—as long as they have done some beneficial work, we will give them a funeral and hold a memorial service. This should become a system, and this method should also be introduced to the people. When someone dies in the village, a memorial service should be held. Through this method, we can express our sorrow and unite the entire people.
