Can a CT scan show the location of stones?

Patient's question:

Patient: Female, 20 years old. Current condition: 1. Right abdominal pain. 2. Nausea and vomiting after eating. 3. Hydronephrosis of both kidneys.

Doctor's answer:

What was said upstairs about the latter being valid is correct, but the former is impossible. If even ultrasound can detect it, CT is certainly not going to miss it. The greatest value of checking for stones is with CT, but it cannot be used as a screening tool because it is too expensive. There is another possibility: if the ultrasound examines stones in the mid-lower ureter or bladder, but the CT only checks the kidneys, the stones in the mid-lower ureter and bladder will not be visible because they are in different locations.
