"Ou Zhai Inkstone Inscriptions (Volumes 1 and 2)"

Author: Zhu Yi'an
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2006-01-01
Features: The Inscriptions and Annotations of Ou Zhai Stone Rubbings is a posthumous manuscript by my grandfather, Mr. Zhu Yi'an. It was transcribed and corrected by my second uncle, Mr. Zhu Jialian, and first published in 1990 by the Bibliographical and Documentary Publishing House (the predecessor of the Beijing Library Press). The original book consists of four volumes: Volume 1 and Volume 2 contain annotations on steles or inscriptions, Volume 3 contains annotations on collected items, and Volume 4 is supplementary, featuring texts written for friends' collections or the works of predecessors. After the four volumes of annotations, there is a complete catalog of all collected steles and rubbings, recording most of the inscriptions, seals, and inscriptions left by previous collectors, as well as a small number of comments. After fifteen years, The Inscriptions and Annotations of Ou Zhai Stone Rubbings has been republished. The book remains in four volumes but is arranged chronologically: Volume 1 covers the Qin and Han dynasties to the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Volume 2 covers the Sui and Tang dynasties, the Five Dynasties, and the Fourteen Kingdoms, Volume 3 contains engraved rubbings, and Volume 4 is supplementary.
