Is impotence the same as premature ejaculation?

Patient's question:

Is impotence the same as premature ejaculation? It seems like I have both of these conditions to some extent. What's going on? My physical health was good before! I don't know what to do now.

Doctor's answer:

Premature ejaculation refers to the condition where a man achieves erection but experiences ejaculation before the penis is inserted into the vagina. However, if the penis can be inserted into the vagina but remains there for a very short time before ejaculation, this is called rapid ejaculation, not premature ejaculation. Therefore, premature ejaculation should be defined as the inability to insert the penis into the vagina. If a man can achieve erection, it does not mean he has impotence. Impotence refers to the complete inability to achieve an erection. If a man first achieves an erection, then experiences softening, and later regains an erection, this is called poor erection.
The above is my suggestion for the question "Is impotence the same as premature ejaculation?" I hope it helps you. Wishing you good health!
