Features: Design textbook construction is the core content of design course construction in domestic universities and has always received high attention from the education and design communities. To further promote the construction of university textbooks and to leverage the exemplary and radiating role of outstanding textbooks, the editorial committee of "China University General Design Textbook Series" will publish a series of general design textbooks with distinctive features, adapted to the times and social needs, while also being highly operational, to meet the needs of readers at different levels. To better adapt to the changes and demands of the social market and to enhance international competitiveness, many domestic universities have recently strengthened the reform and innovation in educational philosophy, objectives, systems, teaching models, disciplinary construction, talent cultivation plans, curriculum systems, and teaching content. As a knowledge carrier that embodies teaching content and methods, design textbooks play an increasingly prominent role in cultivating innovative design talents, promoting comprehensive quality education, and deepening educational and teaching reforms. Outstanding design textbooks must provide broad space for educational content, facilitate interactive inspiration between teaching and learning, enable independent perception and thinking, grasp the relationship between theory and practice, and promote the practice of inheritance and innovation.
