Patient's question:
Prostate size and shape are normal, with clear margins. An abnormal hypoechoic area measuring approximately 11x10 mm is visible within the prostate, with a round shape, thin smooth walls, and enhanced posterior echoes. Diagnosis: Prostate cyst.Doctor's answer:
Percutaneous drainage is relatively simple. Through digital rectal examination, a long needle is inserted into the abscess cavity, and a syringe is used to aspirate until all the pus is completely removed. Sometimes one session may not completely eliminate the abscess, requiring two or more sessions to achieve satisfactory results. When the abscess cavity is large and the amount of pus is significant, it is better to perform abscess incision and drainage. A proctoscope is used to expose the prostate area, and a sharp knife is used to incise the rectal wall into the abscess cavity, draining the pus and placing a drainage tube. The timing for removing the drainage tube is determined based on the drainage condition and further examination. Currently, this treatment still requires the use of antibiotics in conjunction with the therapy.
